The Season Is Underway: A Quick Catch-Up from Sturgeon Point

We're a week into the 2026 season and, somehow, it already feels like we never left. The greens are rolling, the pro shop is busy, and opening weekend was just cold enough to remind everyone why we layer up in April. If you haven't made it out yet, consider this your friendly reminder — the forecast is trending in the right direction.


Here's what's been happening and what's still ahead.


We're Open

The course officially opened on Friday, April 17th. A big thank you to everyone who kicked off the season with us — between the members who showed up early and the staff who had the course looking sharp on day one, it was a weekend we won't forget quickly. Tee times are bookable now, and we'd love to see you out.

Thanks for Visiting at the Country Living Show

From April 17th through the 19th, we set up shop at the Kawartha Lakes Country Living Show at the Fenelon Falls Community Centre. It was a great weekend of handshakes, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting more than a few future members. A huge thank you to the volunteers who represented the Club over the weekend — we couldn't have done it without you.


If we missed you at the booth, don't worry. We're only a short drive away, and the kettle (metaphorically speaking) is always on.

Members Only Scramble — Saturday, May 2nd

Our season-opening Members Only Scramble is just around the corner. Shotgun start at 2:30 PM, open to all ages, completely free, and capped at the first 72 golfers. No handicap pressure, no entry fee, just a great afternoon of golf with the people you've been missing all winter.


Spots fill quickly, so if you're planning to be there, put your name down sooner rather than later.

Golf Ontario Virtual Rules Presentation

We're still finalizing the details for our complimentary Rules of Golf webinar with Golf Ontario. The sessions run between one and one and a half hours and are suitable for everyone, whether you're brand new to the game, a seasoned tournament player, or just someone who has always wondered what the rulebook actually says about your ball ending up in a cow field.

The Pro Shop Is Fully Stocked

If you haven't swung by the pro shop yet, it's worth the trip. We've brought in fresh inventory across the board for 2026:

  • Titleist and Vice golf balls, both fully customizable

  • FootJoy shoes, gloves, and apparel, plus Callaway footwear

  • Vice and Titleist bags and clubs


The staff is happy to help you find what you need. And yes, a customized sleeve of Titleists does make an excellent gift — even if their final resting place is somewhere in the long grass off the sixth.
